SPC Randi Nicole Simpson, USA
September 6, 1984 – February 1, 2021
Randi Simpson passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 1, 2021 at the age of 36. Randi was born on September 6, 1984 in Howell, Michigan to Charles “Chuck” Diggs and Bryn Blackwell.
Randi loved the outdoors and the time spent with her families. She served her country and others honorably by enlisting in the US Army and spent her time at Ft. Hood, Germany, Fort Knox and Fort Bragg. She began her service with the 48th Chemical Brigade and ended with the 1st Infantry Division. She was a quick witted, creative soul that loved to laugh and had an infectious smile. Her willingness to help others was endless and she devoted much of her energy to support everyone she could.
She is survived by her devoted husband, George Simpson, parents, Chuck (Joan) Diggs and Bryn Blackwell; step-father, Jim Hautimacki; her adored children, Liam and Lilly Simpson; siblings, Jessica Erin Hart, Kristina Klein, Sherry (Derrick) Little, and Dominik (Sarah) Zambon; grandmother, Jacquelyn Blackwell; her mother and father-in-law, Richard and Mary Beth Shortt; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Simpson; brothers-in-law, Daniel Shortt, and Cullen Shortt, along with many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, and Nephews.
