SSgt Tyler Buckley USAF

September 27, 1990 – September 7, 2024

OEF Afghanistan

Tyler had the most amazing smile and was loved by all that knew him.

Tyler did imagery analysis in the Air Force. He was very into ROTC in high school and was on the drill team. He was even wing commander his senior year. Serving in the USAF, he deployed to Afghanistan from Langley and was stationed at Offutt AFB when he was medically retired. He served in the USAF for eight years.

Tyler loved movies of all kinds. He took me to see several films that I left having no idea what I had just watched! Tyler was also a huge fan of reality television. He applied at least twice to be on Survivor and tried out for Jeopardy. He loved to spend time with family – he has two brothers and a sister; he was the oldest. Game nights were great fun for us.

Shared by his mom on his 30th birthday:

It hurts me a bit to admit this but today I become the mother of a 30 year old. Tyler, we have been through a lot over the years but I wouldn’t change one thing. From the baby that never slept and always wanted fed, the little boy that loved to sing songs and talked to everyone he saw, elementary you that loved to play board games (making up the rules as you went along) and still couldn’t stop talking to everyone. Through your teen years you struggled to find who you really are and as a young man you chose to serve your country that led to some undesirable struggles for you. You are now a man and I know you are again struggling to find your path in life, but my wish to you is that whatever you chose it leads to love and happiness. You are my first born and will forever be my baby boy. Love you forever,  Mom xoxo

Tyler was always so happy when he was with family, which makes this so difficult to understand.

State he called home: Nebraska

Resting Place: Omaha Veterans Cemetery
