In Memory of LCpl Abel Juan Mendoza Jr. USMC
October 21, 1997 – December 26, 2020
Abel was born October 21, 1997 in Elkhart, IN the son of Abel Mendoza Sr. and Alicia Hanskett. He graduated from Heritage High School in 2015 and went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Marines. He was honorary discharged in January of 2020.
Abel enjoyed playing pool and video games. He also enjoyed staying very fit by working out regularly. Abel had a kind heart, was very witty, generous and was a very loving person. He will be missed dearly.
Abel was intelligent, charismatic, adventurous, brave, sarcastic, and never backed down from a challenge – which is why he enlisted in the Marine Corps. He always stuck up for those he felt were being wronged, and he had a strong yet quiet presence. Abel loved to workout, play pool, swim, and spend time with family and friends. He is loved and missed more than words can ever express.
