Chase was born to Casey McGarity and Heather Carlos on June 28, 1997 in Fort Riley, Kansas. He graduated from Smithson Valley High School in 2015. He was blessed with one son, Eldon Briggs Cohen-McGarity with Gracie Cohen.

At the age of 20, Chase enlisted in the Unites States Army, served 3 years on active duty, then joined the Army National Guard. He was a member of the 2nd Ranger Battalion Delta Company Mortars, and 1st battalion 143rd Airborne Infantry Regiment while Active, and was assigned to Delta Company 143rd while in the National Guard. He earned the Expert Infantry Badge, Global War on Terrorism Service Metal, National Defense Service Ribbon, Good Conduct Metal, Army Achievement Metal, Army Service Ribbon, and the NCO Professional Development Ribbon. He was posthumously awarded the Texas Homeland Defense Ribbon, the Adjutant General’s Individual Award, and the Texas Humanitarian Service Ribbon.

Chase was a father to a beautiful baby boy, who was only 6 months old when he passed. He wrote and recorded countless songs, one of which streams on all platforms. He LOVED his friends and family, enjoyed days on the river here, he loved his Jeep’s and all things outdoors.

Chase Gregory McGarity, 26, of Bulverde, Texas, passed away on January 25, 2024 in a tragic car accident.  He is survived by Father Casey McGarity (Andrea), Mother Heather Carlos (Cerney), Grandmothers Judy Alva and Nancy Yelton, Great Aunt Janet Shires, Great Uncle Justin Shires (Susan) Aunts Holly Rebollo (Edson), Donna McGarity, Mary Mondragon (Larry), Linda Clark, Peggy Alva (Bill) and Uncles Stacy McGarity (Priscilla) and Benny McGarity (Melinda). He also leaves behind his natural siblings Kendall and Carson McGarity and Brinklee Carlos, step siblings Kaitlynn and Caden Van Court and Kinleigh Hance, and Taylor, Zachary, and Bryce Carlos, cousins Emily, Alex, Landon, and Cameron Rebollo, Samantha and James Roelofs and Macy McGarity. He was preceded in death by Grandfathers Malcolm Hileman, Willie Alva, and Wayne McGarity, and Uncle Michael Yelton.
