LCpl Cody Allan Dobbins USMC
December 20, 1991 – June 30, 2015
Veteran of OEF Afghanistan
Cody Allan Dobbins left us too soon on Tuesday, June 30, 2015. Cody is greatly missed by his loving wife, Rebecca and his young daughter, Delaney. Cody’s parents, Quinton and Stacey Dobbins, share in his wife’s grief along with his brothers, Tyson and Kyle Dobbins. As a lifelong resident of Fort Morgan, he leaves behind many family members and friends whose lives he touched. We will remember the laughter and quick wit of the boy we all loved, and the pride we all had in the man he became. Cody proudly served his country as a Marine and will receive full honors in recognition of his military service.
“I had the pleasure of serving with him in the Marine Corps. My deepest condolences to his family. The world is now short one good man that died far too young.”
Cody was very kind and full of life; he would make friends with anyone. He had a great original laugh, one that
made others laugh with him. He believed morals and value were important in a person. Family was so
important; he was excited and scared all at the same time being a father to Delaney (his pride and joy). Cody was very loyal; he stood up for what he believed in and wouldn’t stand by and let someone be taken advantage of or bullied. Cody loved to run; it was one of his biggest ways to release the stress of life. He got hurt in Ghan and wasn’t able to run like he did before his injury – this took a toll on him. He wanted to be a Marine ever since he was 10 years old. When he returned home before his medical discharge, he told me, “Thanks Mom, for letting me follow my dreams, even when it scared you to let me go.”
Cody called Colorado home. Resting place: Fort Logan National Cemetery
