Damien enlisted into the United States Army Reserves and deployed to Iraq with the 302nd MP Company from Grand Prairie, TX. Damien proudly served in Mosul, Iraq, surviving an IED explosion, patrolling the streets of Mosul and training the Iraqi military. He was a Specialist.
He passed away on October 14, 2013. He had been diagnosed with PTSD.
