Hampton Alley

Hampton was born on October 25, 1989. He attended Bluefield High and then Princeton Senior High schools in WV. He joined the Army when he was 17. Hampton served in the 3rd Brigade 2 Platoon Transportation in Korea, and the 101st Airborne Division, Rakkasans at Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
Hampton joined the Army after high school. He was then sent to serve in Korea for his first assignment. It is there that the met his wife. She moved back with him to the US and they were married on May 1, 2009.
This caring shy young man that left me and went overseas came back a different person. Although he appeared to be fine, I noticed that there were subtle changes.
My son suffered from PTSD, with all the help that I tried to ensure that he received, there was nothing anyone–the VA–would do. I will not go into all the times that he cried out for help, and I either did not know or the VA did not take it seriously.
Hampton would have been 26 this October, and had just celebrated his 6th anniversary, and the birth of his second nephew. He was also looking forward to having children of his own.
Hampton – when I think of him I see his beautiful smile, his laughter, and how he always made everyone around him happy. He always tried to ensure that his family was taken care of, and if anyone, including his military family needed him—he was ALWAYS there.
He served his country proudly and with honor. It was his intention to return to his Army family and continue the fight to make the U.S.A. a great country. Hampton is greatly missed by his wife, his parents and siblings, his niece and nephews.

My son is a wonderful man, brother, friend, and solider. We will NEVER forget you, Hammy. We love you!
