In Memory of SPC Steven Jacob “Jake” McBroom USA
US Army / Army National Guard – Operation Iraqi Freedom
February 23, 1987 – October 18, 2022
Jake was a family man. He was married to Tina McBroom and had four beautiful children. Jake took pride in his work as a cell tower foreman. He was skillful in karate. He was a fan of the New Orleans Saints and the Tennessee Volunteers. Jake had no fear of anything it seemed. He was the first to take on any dare. Jake always said that he was a soldier at heart, even after his service had ended. He was very protective of his family and would always be there when anyone needed him. His laugh was contagious, and some would say that he had a raw sense of humor. He was a fan of Chris Stapleton and Luke Combs. Jake was from the small town of Crossville, TN, and lived on the outskirts of Crossville in Monterey, TN.
Jake’s dream was to eventually retire from tower work and spend more time at home with his family, and he always looked forward to his family reunion each year to see his family who lived far away. Jake was very prideful, even in times when he really needed help. His PTSD took a toll on him and his health the last two years of his life.
He leaves behind his wife and his children (ages 2, 6, 12, and 18). He is missed very dearly and will never be forgotten.
Jakes’s final resting place is at the Algood City Cemetery in Algood, TN.
