James R. Woodford, loving father, brother, uncle and son, age 48, of Columbus passed away on April 24, 2010. Jamie was a 26-year veteran of the United States Air Force. He served in Afghanistan and on a multitude of other missions in the service of his country. He was honored with the Joint Service Achievement Medal, the Air Force Commendation Medal, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal with a Bronze Star, and too many other honors and awards to list. He was fluent in several languages and used these skills extensively throughout his Air Force career. Jamie was proud of his service with high-level government agencies including the Pentagon. He was a small arms expert, and a National Rifle Association lifetime member.
