In Memory of SPC Jordan Cameron Neal, US Army
June 26, 2003 – August 18, 2024
“Jordan is my son. He was a combat engineer Specialist in the Army – active duty when we lost him. He joined the Army two months after turning 17. He always knew that he wanted to be a soldier. He did a tour in Poland. While there he went through Ghost school and hooked up with Special Forces. He did several ops with SF at locations in Eastern Europe. He was an amazing son, soldier, and friend.
West Virginia was hit with a 100-year flood in 2016. He spent the weeks of his 13th birthday handing out supplies to the community and helping feed them. He refused leave until I finally had to go home to return to work. Giving back to his community and helping anyway he could was his greatest pleasure. He was an amazing person with such a big heart. To the world my son, SPC Jordan Neal, may just be another soldier who lost his battle at home, but to me and his little brother he was and is our hero. We are so proud of the man he became and love him most. I pray by sharing his story we may be able to help another soldier decide to stay and reach out for support.
West Virginia was home. He loved being outdoors doing anything. He was always helping anyone who needed it. He was my best friend; we were very close and talked every day. He is deeply loved by myself, his brother, and many other friends and family. Jordan was active duty when we lost him.” Shared by his mother, Samantha.
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of SPC Jordan Neal. Born June 26,2003 left us on August 18,2024, while serving at Fort Cavazos, TX. Jordan was just 21 years old but had already demonstrated an unwavering commitment to his country, having joined the service just two months after his 17th birthday.
Jordan was a beloved son, brother, husband, a loyal friend, and a very proud soldier. In his off time he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved to tattoo, play the guitar, float on the river, dance with his wife, NayNay, and mother, and listen to music by the fire as he cooked. He also loved play fighting with his brother. His love for his friends, family, and country shone brightly in everything that he did.
Though we mourn the loss of such a young and vibrant life, we also celebrate the spirit and patriotism Jordan embodied. His dedication to his duties and his love he had for his homeland reminds us all of the sacrifice and courage our servicemen and women commit to every day. As we come together to remember Jordan, we find comfort in knowing that he lived his life with passion, purpose, and love.
He will be deeply missed by family, friends and anyone who ever crossed his path in life.
