28TH AMXS, 34th Weapons Flight, Ellsworth AFB, SD
Home of the B-1
Josh was a 2014 graduate of Royal Oak High School. Following graduation, Josh enlisted in the US Air Force and was awarded the Air Force Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and Air Force Training Ribbon for his service. He will be remembered for his love of Science Fiction and Fantasy, his ability to marinate a perfect steak, and being the person that could always make you laugh. But most of all he will always be known as a loving father, husband, son, brother; and grandson.
Joshua wanted to be a soldier since he was 5. He absolutely loved serving in the Air Force and thoroughly enjoyed his fellow military members. He considered them family. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Ivy, and was a doting daddy to Selene who is almost 3 now. When he was medically retired due to lesions in his lungs from a chemical exposure, he was devastated. He spiraled into a deep depression and although he sought help, it didn’t come in time due to a backlog. He left us on Veterans Day, 2018.
He loved Michigan football: the Detroit Lions and Michigan State University; loved Star Wars and Lord of the Rings, and enjoyed playing video games: Magic The Gathering, and Dungeons & Dragons. Pizza was his favorite food.
States he called home: Michigan, Florida and South Dakota.
Final Rest: Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan
