Joshua Riggs

TSgt Joshua A Riggs USAF
April 20, 1977 – July 12, 2012

Sgt Joshua A. Riggs, of San Antonio, passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2012, at the age of 35. He was born to Robert and Joann Riggs “Crooks” on April 20, 1977, in Greenville, MI. TSgt Riggs joined the Air Force on April 29th 1998, shortly after earning his Associate Degree in Criminal Law. He graduated from the Security Forces Apprentice Course and headed off to his first assignment. He arrived on September 6, 1998, at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. There he served as an Installation Patrolman and Armorer. During his tour he also deployed to Al Jaber Air Base, Kuwait in 2000. It was also there he applied to become a Combat Arms Instructor. Shortly after attending the Combat Arms Apprentice Course, he was re-assigned to Tyndall Air Force Base in March of 2003. He spent 4 years there. His next assignment was Lackland Air Force Base, Texas where he instructed weapons training for Basic Military Trainees and then moved on to teach more advanced weapons skills at the Security Forces Apprentice Course. TSgt Riggs was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal in April of 2003. He is preceded in death by his father and nephew. Joshua is survived by his mother, Joann; wife Elizabeth, daughter, Megan, and son Andrew; two brothers, Michael and David; two sisters, Janet and Judy; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Services were held at the Hope Chapel in Lackland AFB.
