In loving memory of Sgt. Logan DeLanoy:
Logan was the most dedicated, driven man you could ever meet. His dream of becoming a Marine took root early in his life, leading him to attend a military academy in high school, where his hard work and perseverance earned him the title of the highest-ranking officer in the school’s history. He was awarded Iron Cadet three years in a row, an honor that symbolized his physical and mental strength.
But beyond his many achievements, Logan had a heart as big as his ambitions. He wore his emotions on his sleeve, always there to lift up those around him. Logan made it his mission to ensure that anyone struggling knew they weren’t alone, constantly encouraging and supporting others to reach their potential. He was not just a leader but a compassionate friend and confidant.
In the Marines, Logan continued to push himself to new heights. He became a squad leader, scribe leader, and guide-on bearer, roles that reflected his commitment and leadership. His determination to excel was undeniable—he joined the 1,000-pound club, surpassing that weight and becoming the youngest HITT (High Intensity Tactical Training) instructor on the West Coast. His heart was drawn to causes that mattered deeply to him, especially the Shepherds Men organization, where he dedicated himself to preventing military suicides.
Logan’s excellence didn’t go unnoticed. He was honored twice with invitations to join MARSOC (Marine Forces Special Operations Command), a testament to his abilities and potential. After serving a tour in Bahrain, he was preparing for the next chapter of his life, with a bright future ahead of him.
Yet, on April 1, 2024, Logan’s battle with the darkness took him from us. He tragically took his own life. Our hearts are shattered, and words can never fully capture the depth of our loss. Logan was caring, handsome, and full of life, the kind of person who could light up any room. His presence will be missed beyond measure.
We carry Logan with us always, in our hearts, until the day we hold him again.
