SPC Luke Blissett US Army
November 22, 2002 – April 28, 2024
Active Duty, 173rd Airborne Brigade
Luke was born in Denver, Colorado. His hobbies included basketball, disc golf, weightlifting, and playing poker with friends. Luke walked the path of duty with unwavering faith, embodying the virtues of courage, honor, and selflessness that are at the core of Christian teachings. Like the good shepherd who lays down his life for his sheep, Luke exemplified the highest form of love through his devotion to God and Country. As we reflect on the life and legacy of Specialist Luke Blissett we are reminded of the words of Jesus in the book of Matthew, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” We pay tribute to a fallen hero, loving son, devoted brother, beloved friend, and a cherished family member. Luke is survived by his Mom, Melissa, his Dad, Dezell, his brothers, Cole and Sam, along with Lukes’s family and loved ones; and proceeded by his father James and his brother Jessy.
We pledge to never forget his honor and service that was made on our behalf. Rest in peace, dear soldier. Your journey on this earth may have come to an end, but your spirit will forever dwell in the presence of God, where there is no more pain, no more sorrow, and no more tears. Until we meet again in the heavenly kingdom, may you find eternal rest in the loving arms of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
Specialist Luke Blisset, 21, served as a Cannon Crewmember assigned to 4th Battalion, 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade.
