He was also married to my amazing sister. He was a pilot in the North Carolina Air National Guard for nearly 20 years. He was a member of the 145th Airlift Wing and the 156th squadron.

He was deployed to Afghanistan for several months prior. He returned home on March 23, 2012 and passed away a week later. This video tells his story, from coming home to North Carolina, to his funeral and then to how we need to remember him.

He is missed every day. Neal was also in the squadron that flew to South Dakota to fight the wildfires at the end of June, 2012. His friends and comrades were among those who passed away fighting those fires. They are all resting in peace together now.

A huge thank you to the United States Air Force, the North Carolina Air National Guard, and the 145th Airlift Wing out of Charlotte, NC – and all of our family and friends that supported us through this time. Also, to News 14 Carolina and their news footage, Carmel Baptist Church, and Calvary Church.
