In Memory of James R. Gruff, USCG
November 1, 1983 – January 20, 2022
James R. Gruff of Heislerville passed away suddenly Thursday January 20, 2022 at his home. He was 38 years old. Born in Vineland November 1, 1983, he was the son of the late Richard and Christine (Klein) Gruff. He had been an area resident all of his life.
James was a graduate of Millville High School where he excelled in wrestling. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed pheasant and deer hunting. He loved fishing and crabbing and had worked on numerous scallop, oyster, and fishing vessels in the local area.
He is survived by his only niece, Kamilla Gruff, several aunts, uncles and various relatives. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Nicholas Gruff (one of our 22 Too Many USCG heroes).
