Patrick was born in Fort Carson, Colorado. As a child growing up, he was fearless and full of life. He was a natural and gifted athlete playing sports, especially baseball and football. Patrick was a graduate of Bristol-Plymouth High School, Class of 2016. After high school he enlisted in the US Army. Patrick graduated US Army Basic, AIT & Airborne Schools in succession in 2017, fulfilling his dream of becoming a US Army Paratrooper. He excelled at being a soldier, he loved it because he lived it. Patrick lived life to the fullest. His smile was contagious, his sense of humor beyond comparison. Patrick was an old soul and was extremely unselfish and selfless to all he knew. His compassion towards others was unparalleled, his sense of duty uncompromising. He will always be remembered as a brother, son, friend, leader, mentor, patriot, soldier and American hero.
Patrick’s legacy will be remembered by his fellow Paratroopers of the 1st BN, 509th Parachute Infantry Regiment, “Geronimo” Fort Polk, LA. “Old Paratroopers Never Die, They Just Slip Away”.
Patrick is survived by his parents, Christopher A. Maher and Nicole C. Hartranft-Maher, his brothers Sgt. Christopher T. Ayers and his wife, Valerie and SPC Sean M. Maher, his grandparents, Kevin and Judy Maher, Randy and Bonnie Hartranft, Doug and Kristen Kish. Patrick’s family included numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, including Matt and Erin Maher and Family, Greg and Stephanie Maher and Family, Adrianne Hartranft and Family, Alex Hartranft, Sarissa Doll and Family.
