SFC Paul Joe Montanez Jr passed away June 29, 2021 in Fairbanks, Alaska. Paul was born on May 9, 1984 to Donna Gonzales and Paul Montanez Sr in Stockton, California. He was also raised by his step-father Danny Cardenas. He grew up with six brothers and sisters.
Following graduation from high school Paul enlisted in the United States Army in which he served for the remainder of his life. During Paul’s service he earned numerous medals and awards including the Joint Service Commendation Medal, and the Army Achievement Medal. Paul also served three tours overseas – two in Iraq and one in Afghanistan.
When not working Paul cherished spending time with his son and family, and called every day. Paul loved hiking, camping, and visiting new places in the world and outdoors.
Born in CA, Paul lived in Lacey, WA and his resting place is Tumwater, WA.
