“Simon grew up in Evanston, IL. He served 2 tours: one to Iraq and one to Afghanistan. He was a loving husband, a great father, a son, brother, uncle. He was loved by so many. He was a medic in the army and loved it, he started attending culinary school and fell in love with cooking. He lost his battle on October 27, 2015. Simon-Peter was born in Evanston, IL, but currently a resident of Hammond. He was a 2005 graduate of Morton High School. Sgt. Simon-Peter retired from the U.S. Army after an outstanding ten-year career. He served in both the Iraq and Afghanistan Campaigns as a Health Care Specialist. He was Jr. Vice Commander of the American Legion Post #697 in Lansing; and member of the American Legion Riders. He loved riding his bike, “Lola”.
Simon-Peter enjoyed cooking, culinary arts and dressing as a chief. He was a loving, husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin and dear friend.

His smile would brighten my day each and every time I seen him, he is very dedicated to helping and serving others he was an inspiration to all Warrior Transition Unit Soldiers.
