Sonny Farmer

Sonny liked Virginia Tech football, Duke basketball and Redskins football. Sonny loved being outside and hanging with friends. He never met a stranger and was always gravitating to children. He had a great laugh and would be the first to stand up for a friend. He graduated in 2008 from Jefferson Forest High School where he played basketball for the high school basketball team. He played sports since the age of 5. He was on the wrestling team, football team, t-ball, baseball, and his favorite, basketball.

He served 3 tours in Afghanistan. It was on his last Operation Enduring Freedom tour in Afghanistan, April 2012-January 2013, when he gained such a strong forever lasting bond with all of his combat buddies. Now each of them have taken over a new role as being new family to his two older sisters, who want to thank all of A-52nd Spartans for stepping up for Sonny, being there and supporting his family.
